About The Jewett House

The Jewett home was built in the 1800's by a lumber baron, in the 1920's the house was purchased by the Jewett family, there they raised their children until the 1950's when they converted the large home into a funeral home, that served the Mason area until 1990. Many of Mason's residents were served by Art Jewett and his staff. In 1990 the funeral home closed and the house was converted back to a private residence again. The house was remodeled in 2000 and a built in bar, and sun room were added. The house has be rented by many over the past 15 years, even though most have not stayed very long; one tenant moved out at 2:00am due to the amount of spirit activity in the house! It is not uncommon to hear disembodied voices, see balls moving without help from the living or smell phantom cigar smoke. Most nights footsteps can be heard on the second floor when no one is there. Disembodied whistling happens almost nightly. Through the use of digital recordings and a spirit box, questions are answered quite frequently by a host of spirits including; Art Jewett, his brother Alton Jewett, a child named Rachael, and a man named Duffy. Ione Jewett, who is Alton's wife quite frequently reminds us that she is dead. There is no lack of activity in this house, and the more times it is investigated, the more we learn & the more new spirits come out to communicate with us.

***Update*** There is a new family living in the Jewett House at this time. They are aware of the activity in the home, and they have experienced their share of unexplained phenomena. The family asks that you respect their privacy & continues to work with and allow the M.A.P.S. team access to the Jewett House. We have recently discovered & been making contact with a child named Michael whom we believed may have been an infant that passed away in the house.
